MAKSUD
Bay gelding by GOLDEN HORN ex Althania (Noverre)
(Trainer: Hughie Morrison, East Ilsley)
We purchased MAKSUD from the Shadwell dispersal sale at the Tattersalls Horse In Training Sale last October. MAKSUD was unraced at two years for John & Thady Gosden but came highly recommended by Shadwell Racing Manager Angus Gold.
MAKSUD is by Golden Horn who was a multiple Group One winner and Champion three-year-old in 2015 winning the Derby and the Eclipse; he also went on to win the Arc de Triomphe. He is now proving to be a rather her good National Hunt sire as well as being responsible for some very useful performers on the flat. The recent Grade 2 winner Stag Horn is now one of the leading lights for the Ballymore Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham.
This fine big horse has the make and shape of a smashing dual-purpose prospect. As our bloodstock agent Anthony Bromley said when we bought Maksud: “He is a lovely stamp of a horse, and I like the sire particularly. He is a good-looking, easy-moving horse who has gone through his paces and will be ready for action in the Spring of 2022”.
He has gone into training with Hughie Morrison who has had a lot of success as a dual purpose trainer, most recently with the Grade 1 hurdler Not So Sleepy.
