We purchased MAKSUD from the Shadwell dispersal sale at the Tattersalls Horse In Training Sale last October. MAKSUD was unraced at two years for John & Thady Gosden but came highly recommended by Shadwell Racing Manager Angus Gold.

MAKSUD is by Golden Horn who was a multiple Group One winner and Champion three-year-old in 2015 winning the Derby and the Eclipse;  he also went on to win the Arc de Triomphe.   He is now proving to be a rather her good National Hunt sire as well as being responsible for some very useful performers on the flat.

MAKSUD made a bright start to his career for us in 2022 with a win at Windsor under Tom Marquand. He beat a nice looking field and shrugged off any inexperience that he may have had compared to them. We pitched him in the deep end following this run and he ran with credit in the Listed Cocked Hat Stakes at Goodwood, finishing a close up 4th. His best run of the season came at Glorious Goodwood where he was 2nd in a very strong middle distance handicap. He ended out this season with a mark of 101 and goes into his 4yo season with plenty to look forward to.
