Bay colt by DANDY MAN ex Colgin (Canford Cliffs)

We were very pleased to secure this powerful, athletic colt by DANDY MAN at Tattersalls. DANDY MAN was the joint top-rated sprinter in England in 2006 and is now a really good stallion. He has produced multiple Group winners including the lightening quick Peniaphobia, who won the Group One Hong Kong Sprint in Sha Tin. Our colt comes from a very fast family and his pedigree is full of Black Type horses. It includes the Group One King’s Stand winner and very successful stallion, Profitable. DAPPER VALLEY is a much bigger and stronger model than his full brother, Northcliff, who has been an above average juvenile this season. Our fellow is an easy-moving horse with an exceptionally good walk and a lovely outlook. His attractive head and strong shoulder instantly struck us. He looks a sharp, early two-year-old. He is going to Classic winning trainer Richard Hannon, who has had great success with this type of horse, notably the prolific winning DANDY MAN filly, Happy Romance.

DAPPER VALLEY won on his first start for us at Newbury in April 2023, scoring impressively by 2 1/4 lengths. He was unlucky that his reign broke as the stalls opened in the Listed National Stakes on his run after and subsequently had a couple of months off the track. He was a cracking 3rd in a prestigious Goodwood nursery in August, a race that has worked out very nicely. His season ended abruptly due to a fractured hock but he has come through the injury extremely well. He will go into his 3 year old season with a rating of 92 and a much stronger and striking looking horse than he has ever done. We are excited for the season ahead with him.
