TWO YEAR OLD NEWS
It was an exciting week for our two year old’s with INTIMATE ART winning on his fourth time of asking and a promising first time out run from NOBLEMAN.
INTIMATE ART, the Andrew Balding trained son of Dutch Art went to Kempton with a reasonable chance however there were some useful looking types going up against him including the well fancied Radjesh, owned by Goldophin. The fantastic Jim Crowley was on board and rode Intimate Art with the confidence he really needed. He popped out of the stalls well and Crowley had him in the lead early on. Coming to the final two furlongs, Intimate Art was challenged by Radjesh but responded well, drawing away from the Charlie Appleby trained favourite to win by one and a quarter lengths. This was an exciting win from a horse we have always liked and we hope to see him getting further in the future.
NOBLEMAN went to Goodwood on Sunday for the hot looking maiden stakes. The son of Lord of England was bought in Germany by our bloodstock agent Federico Barberini and was up against some very well bred horses including a son of Frankel, Monarch’s Glen. Nobleman traveled well throughout the race, showing good pace to look like threatening two furlongs. Nobleman tired in the closing stages and his jockey, Jimmy Fortune, was not too hard. He finished a very respectable sixth behind some very useful looking horses. The Frankel hot favourite, Monarch’s Glen was the overall winner.
We are excited to see how these two lovely horses fair over the winter, with hopefully an exciting three year old campaign to come next year! Intimate Art was our third individual two year old winner this year following wins from Angel Down and Shozita.
