SCRUTINISE
SCRUTINISE stepped up in class yesterday and showed what an improving three year old he is with what turned out to be a cosy win. The half brother to the ex-Thurloe owned Grumeti, settled in behind the leaders and was travelling comfortably with two furlongs to go but found trouble finding a gap. The long time leader and Old Newton Cup winner, Notarised, and the 100 rated First Mohican battled it out before Scrutinise finally found his gap and squeezed between the pair to take the win under what was a hands and heels ride from Paul Hanagan.
This was an impressive win from a horse going the right way. The trip and the ground suited him perfectly yesterday and we will now assess our options going forward.
