DOWN THE HIGHWAY WINS IMPRESSIVELY ON DEBUT
On his first start for Thurloe, Down The Highway took to hurdles like a duck to water. Winning with authority by 7 lengths from the short priced favorite Mercy Mercy Me (who had run well in both the Cheltenham and Aintree Bumpers).
DTH relaxed from the off and settled into a lovely rhythm, his Irish Point to Point run clearly helped as he outjumped his rivals throughout the race.
Rounding the home turn jockey Aiden Coleman asked him to quicken and he quickly pulled away from the other runners. Another good jump at the last sealed it.
He crossed the finishing line with his ears pricked and seemed like he was racing well within himself.
We were delighted with his performance and when Emma went into his box this morning he had licked his bowl clean.
Well done to Emma and the team.
