BALTIC KNIGHT
Baltic Knight was a very pleasing fourth in the listed Ganton Stakes at York on Saturday. This was the race he had won as a three year old, and he came back two years later in what was a much stronger race. The winner, Top Notch Tonto, who was a top three year old, finishing second to Olympic Glory in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes back in 2013, was three lengths ahead of BK. Jamie Spencer said after the race that he is sure, once we are able to get the conditions spot on, that BK will be back in the winners enclosure. It was pleasing to read Jamie Spencer’s complimentary comments on BK in todays Racing Post. He partnered BK on Saturday and suggested that a big handicap and a strongly run race would suit him perfectly. Unfortunately, the fast ground means that he will not run in the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot on Wednesday. There is a suitable race for him on Coral Eclipse Day.
