AMERICAN ARTIST and THUNDER PASS
American Artist added to a brilliant spell for the Thurloe team with a fantastic win at Doncaster on Friday (11th September). The son of Danehill Dancer faced his most competitive start to date and was sent off the 3-1 second favourite. Andrea Atzeni, who rode him to victory as a two year old, was back on board AA for what was his first race over ten furlongs. After racing somewhat keenly in the early part of the race, Atzeni got him settled and he went on to challenge the leader with a furlong to go. He kept on well to win by a length and three quarters. This was American Artist’s third win out of six starts this season – an impressive tally from a horse who continues to improve with each run.
THUNDER PASS proved how game he is with a thrilling win at Carlisle last Wednesday (9th September). Jockey Paul Mulrennan, who had success with Scrutinise only a week ago, had Thunder Pass leading from the early stages and the horse never lost his position throughout. It turned into a very exciting finish, with Thunder Pass refusing to let the challengers go past him.
