PRINCELY PLAYER
PRINCELY PLAYER was a rather reluctant participant of the World Cup Handicap Hurdle at Worcester yesterday. It isn’t unusual for Princely Player to throw a bit of a tantrum before the start of his races but Richard Johnson knows the horse very well and due to his determined confidence in the horse he managed to get Princely Player to line up.
Despite the nerve racking start, Princely Player travelled through the race well and jumped diligently all the way round. Three from home it looked like the race was over for Princely Player but Johnson kept on going at him and soon he was travelling nicely again, leading from two out and going away to win the race readily.
Richard Johnson was very pleased with the way Princely Player responded to pressure, believing the ground was a huge helping factor for him.
