Porthilly only failed by the shortest of short heads at Maison-Lafitte on Saturday afternoon. The ground was very soft and she was not the quickest away which made her a little out paced in the first half of the race. Once she was switched into the middle of the course she made up ground very quickly and she came between horses to really pick up but didn’t quite catch the eventual winner and favourite, Rapideur (who is rated 94). It was a very impressive run and she showed her quality in a very decent looking race. She clearly has lots of ability and we will be finding another race for her soon.
