DOWN THE HIGHWAY

TRAINER: EMMA LAVELLE, Ogbourne Maizey

Down The Highway, a five-year-old, won impressively on his first and only start by an easy six lengths in a Point To Point at Cragmore in Ireland in February.  He put up a very good time in the process. We were fortunate that this lovely gelding was the first lot into the ring at the 2018 Cheltenham Festival Sale and we managed to secure him for £80,000, which we thought was good value in the current market. He is by a top-class staying stallion in Duke of Marmalade and has a mixture of stamina and speed on both sides of his pedigree. Down The Highway will be aimed at Novice Hurdles this season.
