CAMACHINO

TRAINER: HENRY CANDY, Kingston Warren

This strapping, really good-boned two-year-old by CAMACHO, was bought at Tattersalls in October. He is a lovely athletic horse with a real speedster’s backside and looks a hardy type to go with it. He was one of the stand-out yearlings at Part 3 of the sale and we had to outbid Richard Fahey and other shrewd judges to secure him. CAMACHO, from the Danehill line and a half-brother to another top sprinter stallion in Showcasing, has been responsible for many high-class speedsters. This horse is bred on similar lines to a very fast horse in Dubai called My Catch and his half-brother, Arcavallo, was a luckless second in the six-furlong £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes, a race we hope to go one better with this fellow this year. This horse’s cousin Monsieur Joe, who has run over 90 times, is a Group Three winner in France and has been a consistent, reliable sprinter in Group races over many years. This horse is being trained by Henry Candy, a master with many great sprinters that have included Thurloe’s own champion, Kyllachy.
