BUZZ BACK WITH THRILLING RUN IN WELSH CHAMPION HURDLE

Thurloe For Royal Marsden were in the winners enclosure for the first time this National Hunt Season after BUZZ finished an excellent third in the Potters Group Welsh Champion Hurdle at Ffos Las.
Our popular grey was having only his fourth start over hurdles and this time in much deeper company than his novice competition last season. Sent off on a handy weight of 10st 6lbs and with his winning jockey Jerry McGrath on board, this was a really pleasing performance to finish third behind two top class and seasoned horses in Sceau Royal and Ballyandy.
Buzz was very relaxed beforehand which really helped his run as he was quite ‘buzzy’ in the moments before his races last season. He traveled well although did make the odd few mistakes and one costly one at the last which likely lost him second spot.
It was an eye-catching performance and one that he can really build from going forward. His trainer, Nicky Henderson, was delighted with how he fared. As always, 25% of the winning proceeds will go the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Buzz has been an excellent servant to the syndicate, winning twice and finishing third out of four runs.
