Baltic Knight was back to his best last weekend when finishing a very close up second in the Listed Midsummer Stakes at Windsor. On rain softened ground, Baltic was held up in rear and was last of the main group over three furlongs out. He made up considerable ground to chase the leaders and came up the far side to challenge Custom Cut before trying to take a chunk, Luis Suarez style, out of Custom Cut’s jockey, Jamie Spencer, in the final strides! Although just failing to get up he proved that he is a much fitter and really is improving with each run this season. It is most likely that he will be back on the racecourse soon enough!
