BALTIC KNIGHT and NINEPINS
Baltic Knight put up a fine display to WIN the Pip Kirby Handicap at Nottingham yesterday. Racing off top weight (9st 11lb), he was settled in a good position by his jockey Jimmy Fortune. He came off the pace to challenge the leaders and kicked on strongly to win by a taking one and three quarter lengths. This was Baltic Knightâs sixth career win and his second of a busy 2014 season. He seems to be getting stronger every year and we are sure he will come back an even bigger, better horse as a five year old. What he has shown us is that he does his best work when there is some cut in the ground. We will now wait and see how the handicapper treats his last win before making future plans!
Meanwhile, our Richard Hannon trained filly, Ninepins, ran a very eye-catching race to finish third at Kempton last night. She travelled strongly and ran on takingly, doing her best work at the end of the race. She is definitely a filly for next year and, in time, will want further.
